Each year, thanks to the thousands of generous Australian individuals, families and companies who give to charity, the ACRF is able to ask leading Australian research scientists to submit grant applications of between $1.5 million and $5 million for cancer research funding.Give to charity

To ensure that the very best cancer research is funded, all grant applications are subjected to a rigorous approval process overseen by our honorary Medical Research Advisory Committee (MRAC) chaired by Professor Ian Frazer and featuring many of Australia’s most respected scientists and researchers.

The MRAC advises the charity Foundation’s Board of Trustees on the allocation of grants to the very best and most innovative Australian cancer research projects.

The fight against cancer doesn’t come cheaply which is why we celebrate when every gift to charity – large or small – comes through our doors. The high-powered fluorescent microscopes used in current cell-based research, for example, are valued at more than $1 million, and the annual cost of treating cancer in Australia is more than $2 billion.

Every dollar is important and every time you give to charity, the ACRF can make a great difference. Please help us continue to fund breakthrough cancer research.
