Support research into men’s cancers during Blue September!
Blue September is an international cancer fundraising campaign that delivers a serious message in a fun way.
We are calling on all Australians to Get Blue and support research into men’s cancer this Blue September. Why Blue? Blue is for men, and we lose too many of them (approx. 22,0000 a year) to cancers including prostate cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, bowel cancer and testicular cancer.
The Australian Cancer Research Foundation is proud to be involved in this exciting international event for the third year running. We join with the Australian Prostate Cancer Research centre as beneficiaries of Blue September fundraising.
Why should you Get Blue in Blue September?
One in two Australian men will get cancer in their lifetime, that’s 20% more men than women who will be touched by this terrible disease. More specifically, the type of cancer that one in four me will get, will be prostate cancer.
Unfortunately, Australian men tend to have a bad track record when it comes to looking after their own health. Blue September is about tbree things: facing up to the facts, staying diligent about your health (or the health of a special man in your life) and supporting world-class research into the prevention, treatments and ultimately cures for these cancers which most commonly affect men.
