Cancer research can seem like a remote science performed by dedicated men and women in closed off laboratories. But these scientists rely on people like the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) to keep their work going.
The donations you make propel cancer research in this country – and Australia is one of the world leaders in this field.
The ACRF relies on tax-deductible donations from the community, from corporations and individuals, to help us support the search for a cure for cancer.
Businesses are an integral part of the community and increasingly know that there is more to business life than just economics. Many businesses are actively engaged in helping shape their community for the better.
Benefits for these companies are not just a positive public image. They are able to build a sense of internal community by making their employees feel part of something special.
Some of the ways companies work with ACRF are through staff contribution or workplace giving schemes, by matching dollars raised by employees through a variety of fundraising initiatives or events organised by staff, by donating to ACRF as a gesture at Christmas time or on special staff anniversaries and often in lieu of gifts. Some companies provide goods in kind or work with us as sponsors.
Beginning a Staff Contribution or Workplace Giving Scheme
Many companies support their staff in regular employee donation schemes (also called Workplace Giving or Payroll Giving).
We can help you organise your workplace to make one-off regular donations either through the pay office or through fun events that help raise the team spirit.
Workplace Giving is a tax efficient way for employees to give to charity through their employer’s payroll. It’s an excellent way for employees to support an organisation via a very simple mechanism. Many employers match the funds given by employees, which has positive effects on staff. Click here to download the Workplace Giving Fact Sheet.
Fundraising Initiatives
We are constantly amazed and delighted at the ideas employees of Australian companies come up with to raise money for ACRF's important work in cancer research. From trivia nights, to mufti days, a percentage of sales, staff barbeques, a golf day, a walk in the park or participation in a sports event - whatever the theme, the stories and pictures show that companies have a great time when employees get together to raise money. Some are small, some are large - they all make a difference to our abiltiy to fund cancer research.
Becoming a Corporate Sponsor or Partner of ACRF.
