The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) supports the best and brightest cancer researchers Australia-wide, and welcomes research grant applications from every Australian State and Territory. We are the only private cancer charity in Australia that exclusively funds infrastructure and capital works for projects at the forefront of medical research, with projects selected based on scientific excellence.
Each year ACRF awards grants between $1.5 million and $5 million to leading Australian researchers who aim to prevent, diagnose, treat and defeat all types of cancer. In 2016 we had the privilege of awarding over $17 million in grants to five separate projects across the country. This included one of the largest private grants for cancer research equipment in Australian history, our $10 million 30th anniversary grant. To date, our cancer charity foundation has provided 65 grants totalling almost $129.2 million to cancer research institutes around Australia, including ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS & WA.
