Melbourne Cancerians

melbourne-committee-2004-copyInspired by the work and memory of the late Hon Ann Henderson, the Melbourne Cancerians Committee has been supporting cancer research since 2002.

Over the years the Melbourne Cancerians have successfully raised over $250,000 for cancer research via various fundraising events including fashion parades, parties, jazz afternoons, book launches, film and wine tasting evenings.

The focus of the Melbourne Cancerians is to raise funds in a way that ‘celebrates life’. The Committee believe that ‘when cancer can be prevented, overcome and controlled, then life can be enriched, extended and celebrated.’

Melbourne Cancerians Gems: Committee member and tireless supporter, Sue Trethowan-Jones, launched ‘Gems of a Generation’ – a story embracing the wisdom of 15 amazing Melbourne women. Generous as always, Sue will be donating proceeds from the book to ACRF. Read more about ‘Gems of a Generation’.
